I started working in this direction about 20 years ago. In the sphere of my interests there have been and are painting, manual arts, weaving, painting on fabric, author’s hand-made paper with antique inclusions, studies of restoration of historical and ethnic textiles. At the same time my personal author’s technique and genre were developing. … Plus collection of exclusive hand embroidery and lace, unique clothing accessories of my great grandmother: gloves, cambric and silk accessories, evening bags. Friends also started to add antiques from the real home “collections”. Each time I come across a unique handmade thing I feel inspiration and joy from the fact that I can breathe a new life into it.

“Textile plastic”. You will not find such a term in any reference book on arts. It’s author’s name. The French “art plastique” is very close to this idea.

I would conditionally put this trend in art at the intersection of genres or outside of any genre.

It is both a relief as the ratio of volume to the plane, and paining with textured inclusions, and a collage of fabric.

And at the same time it is neither painting, nor art textile in the habitual understanding. It involves soft textures, although in modern textile art exhibitions there are many woven, mesh and all sorts of fancy things made of quite rigid materials, including metal.
